On an area of more than two hundred square metres, eight companies will offer a close-up experience of advertising technology. Foliatec from Nuremberg was already represented at the first demonstration area in 2007: “Because of the great response and the successful cooperation at last year’s viscom in Düsseldorf, we decided to once again book a space at the demonstration area“, explains Stefan Sack, Head of Marketing at FOLIATEC. “On 30 square metres we will show the simple, neat, and fast application of FOLIATEC.com car glass film on a passenger car by our Stylingteam partners.“ For personal talks, Managing Director Michael Böhm and Stefan Sack will be available. The company will also present the new car glass films REVO REFLEX Super Dark and REVO REFLEX Dark.

Demand just doesn’t stop: two months before the fair opens, 213 exhibitors from 23 countries have already confirmed their participation in viscom frankfurt 2008. And registrations keep coming in. After the exhibition area had already been extended by 10 percent by the month of June, companies now occupy an area that is 46 percent larger than that of the previous event in 2006 (then still called PRO SIGN). “We are very happy that, even with the many trade fairs this year, our exhibitors take advantage of viscom to show their products“, says viscom Director Petra Lassahn. “This shows that the broad and professional range of products and services we offer at viscom frankfurt 2008 is well accepted by our customers.“

In the past, viscom was a trade fair that focused mainly on advertising technology. The times have changed, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication has significantly expanded its offer. The “new” viscom is both a diversified platform for handicrafts and craftsmen, as well as a platform for high-tech innovations, a fact that is also reflected in the wide spectrum of exhibitors. The exhibitors and themes range from signmaking, light advertising and textile finishing to advertising and print matters, outdoor advertising, presentation systems/POP and the necessary materials for these, all the way to ambient media and digital signage. 

viscom frankurt 2008: Light advertising segment strongly present

The subject of light forms a major part of this year’s viscom frankfurt 2008: Besides many exhibitors, the supporting programme also emphasizes light advertising as a significant field of visual communication. Thanks to, among other things, the cooperation with FVL Fachverband Lichtwerbung, visitors to the fair can learn more about many aspects of light advertising in a lecture series held at the viscom forum (Stand A90). Burkhard Schulze is one of the expert speakers there with the topic “Professional installation of light advertising units of less than 1,000 Volt“. How to identify risks, avoid liability and exclude warranty claims are just some of the questions to be answered by Mr. Schulze, who is an engineer and Federal Commissioner for Standards in the Association of German Electrical and IT Trades (Zentralverband der Deutschen Elektro- und Informationstechnischen Handwerke - ZVEH). Frank Westerhausen, Managing Director of Majert GmbH & Co. KG, devotes his lecture to possible energy savings in light advertising, dealing especially with illuminants and their power input, with improving the energy balance by means of intelligent control units and with the optimisation and coordination of the materials used.

Applied advertising technology at the demonstration area

Frankfurt/Düsseldorf. Examples of applied advertising technology will be on show at the demonstration area at viscom frankfurt 2008. After the great success last year, the international trade fair for visual advertising technology will again feature practical examples of application in a large number of live demonstrations on all three days of the fair. “Interest from visitors was so strong that we decided to respond to the demand again this year,“ explains viscom Director Petra Lassahn. At the 200-sqm area, visitors can experience the latest trends and techniques close-up..

“Industrial Inkjet Printing“ at viscom frankfurt 2008

Whether used for facades, floor coverings or furniture and  accessories, on wood, metal, glass, textiles or many other materials – industrial inkjet printing opens undreamt-of possibilities for advertising technicians, architects, interior decorators, designers, printers, shop fitters, exhibition stand designers etc. At the same time, however, the technique raises countless questions such as, “What is today’s standard?“, “Which economic and environmental aspects are important?“, “What will be practicable in future?“ or “Where does any hidden potential still exist?“ All these questions will be explored in depth at this year’s viscom frankurt. After the great success of last year, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication will again present a special show on the topic of industrial inkjet printing and provide information on suppliers, possible uses and processing methods.

viscom frankfurt 2008 enlarges exhibition area

viscom frankfurt is growing: Five months before opening, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication can report a lively demand. Even at this early stage, the exhibiting companies have already booked an area ten percent larger than was the case for the previous event in 2006. So far, a total of 145 exhibitors from 17 countries have confirmed their stand booking. The organisers, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH, are expecting 200 international exhibitors and 7,500 visitors from 30 countries. viscom Director Petra Lassahn is pleased: “viscom’s new course is a success with both exhibitors and visitors“, she says.

Digital Signage Days at viscom frankfurt 2008

Frankfurt/Düsseldorf. After the huge success of the first Digital Signage Days at the Düsseldorf viscom in 2007, the offer for visitors will be doubled this year. At viscom frankfurt 2008, which will take place from 30 October to 1 November 2008 at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre, there will be two Digital Signage Days.

After this successful premiere, the prize will again be awarded this year at viscom frankfurt 2008. “Every year, our exhibitors contribute to making viscom the industry platform“, says viscom Director Petra Lassahn. “With this award we want to focus more strongly on innovations in the industry.“

Frankfurt/Düsseldorf. Four trade fairs, one name: with the creation of the new viscom umbrella brand two years ago, Reed Exhibitions established a European brand network extending from Germany through Italy and France  all the way to Spain. PRO SIGN, which had been staged in Germany every two years to alternate with viscom, also became viscom since both fairs had developed in increasingly similar directions. “To put both fairs under one name was a logical move therefore, demonstrating that both events focus on the same core theme of visual communication,“ explains viscom Director Petra Lassahn.

Düsseldorf. Joining forces: viscom frankfurt 2008 – the international trade fair for visual communication and the Digital Signage Expo from the United States have decided to work together in the future. The annual DSE, which is alternately staged in Las Vegas and Chicago, is the world’s largest digital signage trade show and conference. The more than 100 exhibitors offer interactive solutions and media networks for end-consumers in retail, entertainment, transportation, finance and public locations.

Düsseldorf. From high-end digitals to classical engraving: the variety of visual communication is bigger than ever. Proof of that could be seen at this year’s viscom which presented itself full of new vitality. With a total of 8,900 trade visitors the organizers, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH, recorded a result at a similar level with that of the previous event (2005: 9,023). In this context, the proportion of visitors from advertising agencies and of customers from the industrial and the department store sector who found their way to Düsseldorf this year was significantly higher.

Final Report PRO SIGN 2006, The Trade Fair on Sign Making in Europe

Frankfurt. Satisfied faces, a busy fair and a strong push in demand: this year’s PRO SIGN proved extremely productive and lively. “Instead of just offering an end of season gleaning in the autumn, the fair was characterised by a large number of innovations and the interest among trade visitors in specific aspects,“ is how PRO SIGN boss Petra Lassahn sums up the very successful course of the fair with a big smile. Top marks from exhibitors and visitor figures tying in seamlessly with the previous record made for a thoroughly positive course of the fair. With a total of 7,270 visitors from more than 30 nations, PRO SIGN surpassed its previous record (2004: 7,007). The opinion expressed by the 170 exhibitors clearly reflected this mood: 67.7 percent awarded PRO SIGN the marks “very good“ or “good“, another 27.7 percent said the three fair days had been “very satisfactory “.
