Frankfurt/Düsseldorf. The subject of light forms a major part of this year’s viscom frankfurt 2008: Besides many exhibitors, the supporting programme also emphasizes light advertising as a significant field of visual communication. Thanks to, among other things, the cooperation with FVL Fachverband Lichtwerbung, visitors to the fair can learn more about many aspects of light advertising in a lecture series held at the viscom forum (Stand A90). Burkhard Schulze is one of the expert speakers there with the topic “Professional installation of light advertising units of less than 1,000 Volt“. How to identify risks, avoid liability and exclude warranty claims are just some of the questions to be answered by Mr. Schulze, who is an engineer and Federal Commissioner for Standards in the Association of German Electrical and IT Trades (Zentralverband der Deutschen Elektro- und Informationstechnischen Handwerke - ZVEH). Frank Westerhausen, Managing Director of Majert GmbH & Co. KG, devotes his lecture to possible energy savings in light advertising, dealing especially with illuminants and their power input, with improving the energy balance by means of intelligent control units and with the optimisation and coordination of the materials used.
To date, more than ten percent of the exhibitors come from the light advertising segment – due to their diverse respective product ranges they present a large spectrum of products. With companies such as Osram GmbH, which is an exhibitor for the second time, viscom demonstrates that even large manufacturers consider the fair an important communication platform. In addition to LED products, which are strongly represented, visitors will also find neon glass systems and their accessories. 3M Deutschland GmbH is also present with a large range of products: Next to various films the manufacturer will also present the LED Light System 800. It combines the light-enhancing film Light Enhancement 3635-100 with LED strips and is suitable for large-format light boxes. The topic of light advertising is also represented at the demonstration area, where practical examples of application will be shown on all three days of the fair: Rosen Lichtwerbung GmbH will demonstrate the installation of LED modules here
After last year’s successful introduction the trade fair will again give away the viscom INNOVATION AWARD in the category light advertising. Furthermore, besides innovations exhibitors can also enter unusual examples of practical application which will be granted the Best Practice Award.
viscom frankfurt 2008 will be held as this year’s International Trade Fair for Visual Communication from 30 October to 1 November in Hall 3.0 of the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. The organizers, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH, expect 200 international exhibitors and 7,500 visitors from 30 countries.
