What exhibitors say about viscom 2007...

Exhibitor Statements - Junge Innovative Unternehmen
The following statements show you some of the exhibitors' opinions regarding viscom 2007 in Düsseldorf.
It is shown that viscom, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication, is once again the meeting point of the visual communication industry and it is developing from year to year.
The viscom-team is looking forward to seeing you in 2008 in Frankfurt.

  • The fair was very exciting. We were quite surprised by the lively interest shown by visitors in the Digital Signage Day. This proves that there is a huge lot of catching up to do in this area. And viscom is the first trade fair to have succeeded in putting Digital Signage on the agenda and thus to pave the way for innovations.

  • For us, viscom was a great success, visitor frequency was good. Our aim was to address first of all the users from classical advertising technology. In this, we were successful.

To be part of the market, being present at exhibitions is a must. That is why we are at viscom. We met a large number of interested parties from Poland, Croatia and from eastern Europe in general. By comparison, German customers were more reserved.

Exhibitor Statements - JIU

  • 2007 was our first time at viscom. The possibility to get a subsidised stand was ultimately the main factor in our decision to present our new content management system for digital signage. On each of the three days we received a number of concrete project inquiries which then quickly turned into order during the course of the next few weeks. And the viscom night was a worthy conclusion to the event!

  • We are providers of electronic welcome-boards, and we have never experienced better support in the run-up to such an event.  We were sent a series of emails containing important and timely information, including reminding us to submit the necessary forms in good time.  Preparations were completely trouble-free. Any minor requests that we had during the event itself were quickly dealt with. In our experience, Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH and the viscom team earn top marks any day.  The Digital Signage segment probably needs a little more time to become fully established.

  • As a manufacturer of innovative print media for digital printing (LFP) and of moderation and presentation products, we used the viscom Forum for the first time this year (2007) to launch our new digital printing range for Innova's Photo & Fine Art series.

Thanks to the special support of the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (provision of subsidy), we managed to obtain a place on the joint "Young Innovative Companies" stand.

The event was exceptionally well organised and we were taken very good care of. The position of our stand could have been slightly better, but this minor complaint was largely compensated by the trade visitors at the event.  Ultimately, the quality of the visitors was the main criterion.

For us as a company, this event was a complete success.  We were able to generate plenty of new customers, new orders, good publicity and new contacts.

Overall, the positive outcome means that we'll be seriously considering repeating the experience next year. This was due not least to the excellent organisation of the viscom team and the support they offered us during the event itself.
Our hope is that the Frankfurt event will become even more international in nature.
Trade fairs, when organised like this, can actually be enjoyable!

  • viscom 2007 was a complete success for us. We took part for the first time, on the joint stand for Young Innovative Companies. What was really good was the excellent communication and the friendly but professional advice and support given during the event by the Reed Expo team. The quality of the exhibition stand itself left nothing to be desired. We enjoyed "all-round" support..
We're looking forward to coming back to viscom in 2008.

  • Looking back at viscom, our decision to take part was exactly right, despite the fact that no actual new orders were placed with us as a result. Yet support for our work came in various different guises at viscom.
The subsidy by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control clearly made our decision to take part in viscom easier. At the end of the day the subsidy accounted for roughly 80 percent of the total costs of taking part in the joint stand (12 - 15 square metres) at the "Forum for Young Innovative Companies", plus the stand fittings and the catering. Besides providing the logistics, viscom also took care of much of the press and PR work, which is of great benefit especially for smaller companies. As a special concession from viscom, we were allowed to use our own design for the exhibition stand, allowing us to give it our own individual character.
Anyone measuring the success of their involvement purely by the number of orders received during an event is being too short-sighted.  Often, informal contacts made at a trade fair prove fruitful later, sometimes years later, possibly in a completely different context. But simply on the strength of the many positive reactions we've had to our presentation and the product we were showcasing, we've come away from viscom with a good feeling, confident of having made the right decision. The long-term effect of winning a prize such as the "Digital Signage Best practice Award" should not be underestimated.  It's no secret that having the opportunity to make direct comparisons with rival companies on neighbouring stands is really helpful in positioning your own company and detecting any deficiencies - as nowhere else can you get such a clear impression of what is happening in the market as at a trade fair.
