Frankfurt. It has developed into one of the world's most prestigious awards - the Digital Signage Best Practice Award which was presented during viscom for the fourth time now. In front of an audience of some 500 colleagues from the industry who had assembled in the historic Ratskeller restaurant in the Frankfurt city hall complex to celebrate viscom night, a total of six companies received the much-coveted award. Prizes were awarded in the categories of Retail Signage, Guiding Signage, Information Signage and Interactive Signage, which demonstrate the broad range of this young and trendsetting medium. The expert jury consisting of 12 members also presented one Special Award.

The "Coca-Cola Piccadilly Sign London" project, an interactive campaign for the 2010 World Cup, is a highly creative solution moving people in both senses of the word. It demonstrates a clever use of large out-of-home spaces embedded in a multichannel strategy using all channels, and also turns passers-by into actors.

people interactive GmbH: Telekom Shop 2010
Client: Deutsche Telekom GmbH
Sabine Schmidt, people interactive GmbH
Salvatore Accuputo, people interactive GmbH

The high-quality entries in the Interactive Signage category prompted the jury to proclaim two winners here. As a result, people interactive GmbH is another happy award winner. Its design of a Telekom Shop shows digital signage in the retail sector with interactive elements. The project is realised in a consistent manner throughout the entire room; the interactive elements fit in with the overall concept. An important aspect for the jury was the fact that the system leaves the choice up to the customer, offering both consultation by an employee or self-service at the terminal.
