Since 1844, porcelain “Made in Germany” is produced in Kahla. With the founding of KAHLA/Thüringen Porzellan GmbH by Günther Raithel in 1994, and the establishment of the company as a family company, under the management of Holger Raithel, the brand has developed into a pioneer of table culture. Today, KAHLA is one of the most modern porcelain manufacturer's in Europe, whose products are regularly awarded design prizes.

KAHLA combines multi functional porcelain articles, sensual and sensible design, exciting surface design and sustainable manufacture in Germany, under the motto "design with added value". Designers such as Barbara Schmidt and Lisa Keller have significantly characterised the brand image of KAHLA.

Hard porcelain from KAHLA consists of natural raw materials, is regularly checked for harmful substances by independent institutes and is certified according to the highest standards. For all KAHLA products the clear strategy "Made in Germany" applies. Thereby jobs are secured at the site in Germany and international environmental, safety and quality requirements are fulfilled. In the scope of the sustainability strategy "KAHLA pro eco" millions of litres of water are saved annually due to in-house wells, and thanks to investments in innovative technology, the C02 emissions are significantly reduced. The photovoltaics plant of the company produces electricity through solar energy, which is used for the porcelain production.
